Christian Peslak of Saint Rich and Delicate Steve will portray David Johansen in an upcoming HBO series about New York City's music industry and the punk community in the late '70s. The series is directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Mick Jagger, Terence Winter, and Breaking Bad's George Mastras.
Christian was cast by Scorcese after he self-filmed a shirtless audition tape of NYD's "Personality Crisis" on 10 minutes notice in the backyard of a stranger's house in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn.
MHA will present its annual Found Sound APAP showcase at Joe's Pub in New York's Public Theatre on Saturday, January 10, 2015. Last year's sold out event was enjoyed by an audience of the most influential and progressive presenters, media, and label executives at the conference. Also, Padma Lakshmi showed up for shock and awe effect.
WSJ has premiered the first track from Red Baraat's forthcoming record Gaadi of Truth. With the premiere, the track immediately landed Gaadi of Truth at #1 on the CMJ World Music charts, a month ahead of the record's official add date.
Delicate Steve was invited by Tame Impala to perform as the special guest on their sold out US tour. The group played among the best sets of their career on the biggest stages they've performed on to date. Two sold out Beacon Theatres, in front of 6,000 people at LA's Shrine, and Brooklyn Bowl Vegas. On the second of two sold out nights the Fox Theatre in Oakland, the band walked on stage to the crowd chanting 'Steeeeeeeeeve.'
Steve closed out the tour by schooling Tame Impala and crew in half court b-ball.
Orkesta Mendoza was the only US band selected to perform at the ultra-competetive and hugely influential WOMEX conference in 2015. No surprise the band made a big impression on the audience of international presenters, media, and industry people. Hear the All Things Considered recap and call-out for Orkesta Mendoza here. Orkesta Mendoza follow Red Baraat as the second MHA client to be selected to perform at WOMEX.
Red Baraat's fall tour crisscrossed the US with appearances at a broad range of festivals (including Monterey Jazz, Voodoo, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Austin's FanFest), clubs (LPR, Brooklyn Bowl, The Hamilton, Underground Arts), colleges (Princeton, Lehigh, Carleton) and performing arts centers. The band is taking some much needed time off before the release of Gaadi of Truth in January 2015.
At the direct request of Tame Impala, Delicate Steve will support the Australian Psych Breakout's Fall US Tour.

Huge news! Orkesta Mendoza have been selected to perform at WOMEX 2014, happening this October in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. This notoriously selective conference happens to be the most effective platform to introduce presenters from all over the world (but primarily outside of the US) to the most progressive and engaging bands in the 'world' music realm. It's a huge honor and incredible opportunity for Orkesta Mendoza. MHA was last present at WOMEX when Red Baraat was selected to perform at WOMEX 12 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Saint Rich headed down to Carborro to join label mates Superchunk, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Mountain Goats, Destroyer, and a bunch of other great folks to play at the label's 25th Anniversary weekend celebration. The band played a solid set and later joined Mikal Cronin during his show to perform 'Am I Wrong', the Cronin tune they covered for the Google Play Anniversary comp.
Over 400 Players Converge on the Brooklyn Public Library's Grand Army Plaza to debut the Red Baraat founder’s NPR Commissioned piece. So proud of Sunny Jain and Red Baraat for pulling off this incredibly epic event so successfully. What a joy to see the spirit of the band and this composition imbue hundreds of players and even more spectators. Smiles everywhere. An incredible day. Check the NPR Music video.
Delicate Steve's summer tour highlights includes spots headlining a Summerstage Show at the Red Hook Ballfields and several shows supporting his pal Mac Demarco. Much of the rest of Steve's summer will be spent with Saint Rich, working on the forthcoming Delicate Steve record, cat-sitting at sweet apartments in Brooklyn, and ripping off century bike rides and things of that nature.
